![]() ![]() This App is Great star star star star star_border This app will absolutely pay for itself during my basement remodel project. I think with a bit more time to mature it will be truly fantastic. Many of the cons can be overcome with the block tool in combination with ceiling opening and 3d shapes. Sunken rooms like a step down to a garage are very challenging to make work Limited trim/moulding support (can’t edit elevation for raise rooms, can’t specify casing for doors/windows, missing base trim for wall ends and wall openings) No siding or concrete materials… really? I had to put asphalt in my basement :/ Edit in sketchup is a nice feature but doesn’t really work because it destroys your object/component grouping Very limited selection of doors and cabinets (although you can find more in the Trimble 3D warehouse) ![]() Doors, windows, stairs, and cabinets are just 3d objects and thus are not very well integrated like they are with chief architect Lacks support for slopped lots, exposed basements. Materials and very easy to add and edit Works with my older 2011 MBP where the newest chief architect does not Overall it is much more pleasent to use and the 3D mode works better. I was a previous chief architect home designer user before purchasing Live Home 3D. TK5473's Review of Live Home 3d Pro Reviewed on 3/10/20 1:47 PM Probably your best option for DIY home design star star star star_border star_border You increment the version number, change the program name to get around the iTunes upgrade policy, pretty shameful excuse to generate revenue. And I feel ripped off at the minimal changes. Sorry guys (speaking to you the developers) I wanted to love your upgrade but you fell short. I hope they at least fix the performace issues. Updates for the previous version were mostly bug fixes, so if history is an indicator, don’t expect new functionality out of version 3+. There is a lot that can be improved with this program. So unless you have flat ground, think twice. Also the program cannot handle hills or topology elements. Probably the worse thing about this “upgrade” is the performance… 3D walkthroughs (with lighting and shadows turned off mind you) is much much slower and choppier than the previous version.Īlso, DON’T get this program and try to do landscape design… it’s HORRIBLE at it (note above for curves). You can rename objects, but you can’t search for them, so if you hide one for testing or for A/B viewing, you have to scroll for minutes to try to find the object you just wanted to temporarily hide. If you are familiar with Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, forget it even though there is an object tree (you see that in the screen shots for the app) theres not much you can do to with the layers. When you start to get hundreds of objects in your model, which you will, there is no good way to organize the layers. ![]() I’ve asked for the ability to do besier curves for floors, but the best you get is polygon points, so you have to create hundreds of individule points that all must be moved independlty when making curved floors for things like patios, and grass areas super painful to use.Īlso still missing is the ability to layer, name and search for your models elements. The interface has been cleaned up a little. There are some new features, but none that I can tell are worth uprading for. This is a PAID upgrade, but frankly it is mostly just rebranded. I’ve been using the previous version 2.8 (which was removed from the app store and was called “Live Interior 3D Pro”) for three years.
